Series: Philippians (1) | Pastor Mark Harrell | Play/Download Philippians 1 and Acts 16
Here is a short list of some of the people in the Church of Philippi: 1. Lydia (Asian). A wealthy business woman. Paul appeals to her intellect and she understands the gospel and gets saved. 2. The slave girl (Greek). She is impoverished, enslaved, and exploited. Paul reaches her by addressing the demonic spirit controlling her and she is set free. 3. The jailer (Roman). He is a hardworking, military type guy. Paul reaches him by being an example of loyalty to a greater duty, something beyond even his understanding of duty. Paul shows him an example of Christian living that shakes this man to his core. Paul had a picture of how the Gospel cannot be stopped by the walls we build as humans. In an instant, Paul defined the Gospel by defying situations.
