John 8: 31-36
You can be under demonic influence. Romans 7:15
If you don’t move in the progression of freedom, the opposite direction can happen which is:
1) That area now becomes a part of your identity.
2) You begin to feel increasingly hopeless.
3) You become defensive.
4) You become a slave to it.
5) You begin to lose your life.
1) There really are demons. I Peter 5: 8-9
“Satan hails the skeptic and superstitious alike.” C.S. Lewis

Paul talks about three types of people:
1) The UNSPIRITUAL person.
I Corinthians 2:14
Without the Spirit - psuchikos - soul driven and body driven.
2) The SPIRITUAL person.
I Corinthians 2:15
Spiritual - pneumatikos - the spirit man has now come alive.
3) The WORLDLY person.
I Corinthians 3: 1-3
Galatians 5:17-18 (ESV)
Jesus talked about this issue as well and gave a solution.

Jesus brought out two words: 1) Unbelieving - not connected to God. 2) Perverse - too connected to the world.
Matthew 17: 19-21
Jesus brought out two solutions: 1) Prayer. Prayer connects us to God. 2) Fasting. Fasting disconnects us from the world.

If Christian men could resolve the fathering problem, we could change America.
I Corinthians 4:14-17
Paul looked at people as family.
Fathering is not a space of time where you are present. Fathering is input into an individual’s life.
You have to be fathered in order to father others.
Hebrews 12: 5-8
Philippians 2: 19-23
LIFE IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS.
Relationship is not for information - you need formation.
Four things that all “fathering” encompasses:
King David did not do this. I Kings 1: 5-6
I Corinthians 4:16
Direction is exemplary living.
Jesus received acceptance, affirmation and approval from His
Father in the waters of baptism and He hadn’t done anything in ministry yet.
I Corinthians 4:17
