Mark 11: 12-22 Jesus wants fruit from our lives. Realities we find from the fig tree: 1) Alone. It was by itself. 2) Appearance. Leaves don’t sustain anything. 3) Absent. No fruit - no life. How do we change this situation? The Bible describes another type of tree. Psalm 92: 12-15 Ways to bear fruit: 1) Roots. Roots are the secret part of the tree that no one sees but everybody benefits from. Prayer, priorities 2) Rain. Rain is the presence of God. Worship changes the environment. The environment matters if you want to produce fruit. 3) Relationships. Community. It’s staying in an environment where others are growing with me and I’m growing with them. Ephesians 5: 22-28 Philippians 2: 5-11 Humility is a principle/conviction where we admit, we don’t know everything. The willingness to listen is the first step of humility. I Peter 5:5 You have to live with other people in mind. I Peter 5:6 God is needing your permission to exalt you. How do we give God permission to exalt us? Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. Humility is the willingness to make adjustments. I Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he MAY devour.” NKJ The devil is looking for a proud person.
